Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 20, 2026

This page is the public privacy policy for the Kubo apps on iOS and Android, including Play Store and App Store listings.

Who we are

Kubo (“we”, “us”) is a baby and child care companion app operated for families. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Kubo mobile apps, website (kubo-bear.app), and related services, and how we use it.

If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].

Information we collect

Account information: email address, name, password (stored hashed), and optional phone number when you register or verify your account.

Child and care data you choose to enter: profiles (name, birth date, gender, timezone, photo), logs (sleep, feeding, diapers, care, nutrition), growth and milestones, concerns, routines, reminders, and notes or media you attach.

Family sharing data: invitations, membership roles, and shared access to children you invite others to help care for.

Device and app data: device identifiers used for push notifications, app version, approximate timezone, and diagnostic information needed to keep the service reliable.

Location (optional): only when you use Help features that find nearby hospitals, pharmacies, or local emergency numbers. We do not use location for advertising or continuous background tracking.

Purchases: App Store / Google Play handle payment details. We receive subscription status, product identifiers, and verification tokens so we can unlock Premium or Family features—not your full card number.

How we use information

To provide and sync your care logs, reminders, insights, Journey content, and family sharing across your devices.

To power optional features such as Ask Kubo / AI companion tips based on the care context you choose to share.

To send transactional messages (verification, invites, care reminders, and service notices) and, if enabled, push notifications.

To secure accounts, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve product reliability.

To comply with law and enforce our terms when required.

Children’s information

Kubo is designed for parents and caregivers. Profiles and logs about children are provided by adult account holders. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create their own accounts.

Caregivers control what is stored about a child and can edit or delete child profiles and related logs through the app (subject to family membership permissions).

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We share data with service providers who help us run Kubo (for example cloud hosting, databases, email/SMS delivery, push notification infrastructure, and AI processing when you use Ask Kubo). They may only process data on our instructions.

Family members you invite can see the child data you share with them according to their role.

App Store and Google Play receive and process purchase information under their own privacy policies.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or security of users and the service.

Storage and security

We store account and care data on secured servers and use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access controls.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong password and keep your devices updated.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service.

You may request account deletion at https://kubo-bear.app/delete-account or by contacting [email protected] (or through in-app account settings when available). We may retain limited records as required for legal, security, or billing obligations.

International users

Kubo may be hosted or processed in regions different from where you live. By using the service, you understand your information may be transferred to those regions with appropriate safeguards.

Your choices

You can update profile and child information in the app, manage notification preferences, and revoke optional permissions (such as location, camera, or photos) in device settings.

You can manage or cancel App Store / Google Play subscriptions in your store account settings.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at https://kubo-bear.app/privacy and revise the “Last updated” date below. Continued use of Kubo after changes means you accept the updated policy.
